The Pinwheel Galaxy, also known as M101. It’s 21 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Ursa Major. By March, M101 is too high in the sky making it bit challenging to shoot in the light polluted sky. I had total exposure time of 2 hours, half the data was captured from the top of Brasstown Bald Observatory, and the other half from the base in North Georgia. Yet, not enough data to show all the details of the Galaxy itself. Sometimes I find myself night dreaming for a better mount (mostly german equatorial mount) and a telescope. But then the sun rises in the morning, reminding me of all the money I've poured into this hobby.
Exposure time: 124 Minutes.
Exif: 20s at f/5.6; ISO 10000. Shot using Nikon Z8 at 500mm mounted on Sky Watcher Star adventurer.
