For thousands of years, people found wonder and fascination in the cosmos. Our ancestors looked up at the night sky and found meaning and importance in the stars and constellations and they told many stories. We all know the story of Orion the hunter. In Greek Mythology, Orion was a hunter who was placed among the stars as a constellation. Legend has it he was in love with Merope, one of the seven sister stars. However, Merope was not interested in him because he was no Jon Bon Jovi. But he pursued her relentless. In the end, Merope prayed to the gods for protection, and the gods placed a veil of mist between her and Orion. Today, this mist is said to be Orion Nebula or Messier 42.
