Geminid Meteor Shower - I was fortunate to witness yet another astronomical event this year. The great Geminid Meteor shower also called the king of Meteor shower. As always, my anticipation for the Geminids was filled with excitement and wonder. The look-see at Popcorn overlook offered great views of the north and is also considered one of the best spot for star gazing in North Georgia. The night was moist and the mountains struggled to shed the snow it had received this past week. Faint band of the Milky way was seen hanging in the northern sky as the debris from Phaethon started to lit up the sky. I was entranced. The night I will always remember as the night with sky full of falling stars.
